9 weeks until Christmas Week 2 Card 1 - pop up

I just finished the pop up card for week 2. I made a Christmas tree pop up using the Robert Sabuda technique. I decorated the inside with stamping, embossing and stickles and punched the edge with a Fiskars punch.





Ik heb net mijn pop up kaart voor week 2 gemaakt. Ik heb het techniek van Robert Sabuda gebruikt. De binnenkant isversierd met stempelen, embossing, sticles en de randen met een Fiskars pons.

8 weeks until Christmas Week 3 Special K Card - coloured tissue

Today the Special K challenge: a coloured tissue background. I sprayed a piece of tissue paper with water and then dropped black parker ink onto it, together with silver and gold inks. I then sprayed more water onto the tissue paper with a mini mister to make it run more, then heat dried it with my hairdryer.

Vandaag heb ik mijn Special K gemaakt met een gekleurde tissue achtergrond. Ik heb een groot stuk papier nat gemaakt, daarna druppels zwarte parker inkt, goud en zilver inkt opgedruppeld. Daarna weer nat gemaakt met een mini-mister. Ik heb het toen gedroogd met mijn gewone fohn.

9 weeks until Christmas Week 2 Special K Card

The challenge this week is to use the soot technique. Stamp an image on glossy cardstock (not photo paper - it burns) with versamark. Then overheat it (about 3 min) - be careful you don't burn the paper! Then, using a candle, flame the entire image until it is pitch black. Be very careful, the card catches fire very quickly!. Then using a soft cloth, wipe off the soot. If all's gone well, you will have a lovely sooty image. Spraying it with a fixative is optional.

De challenge in week 2 was om de 'roet' techniek te gebruiken. Stempel op glans papier (niet foto papier, het brand!) met versamark inkt. Nu moet je het oververhitten - ongeveer 3 min. Pas opdat het papier niet in gaat branden! Nu, met behulp van een kars moet je het papier vlammen en goed zwart maken. Pas op dat het niet fikt!!. Gebruik nu een zachte doek om de roet te verwijderen. Als alles goed is gegaan heb je een mooie roet afdruk. Desgewenst kan je het met een fixeer spray behandelen.

This is my Special K card for the Katzelkraft  challenge. It must have a cold embossed background with tags superimposed.

Dit is mijn kaart voor de Katzelkraft  challenge. Dit is week 1, de Special K. Het moet de volgende elementen bevatten: een (koud) embossed achtergrond en tags die over de achtergrond geplakt zijn.

This is my second card for the Katzelkraft challenge, the theme is transparency I recycled a piece of packing plastic for this.

Dit is mijn tweede kaart voor de Katzelkraft challenge. We moesten een kaart maken met iets transparants. Ik heb eeb stukje verpakkingsplastiek hergebruikt hiervoor.

10 weeks until Christmas Week 1 Card 1

Katzelkraft Challenge Week 1:

There are 4 challenges:

1. The sketch:

2. Use something transparent

3. Use stitching on the card

4. The Special K: dry (cold) embossing, with superimposed tags.

This is my very first challenge card! I haven't followed the sketch exactly, I hope that's OK! After I'd made the black card, I was interested to see what it would look like in the reverse colours - so I made another one!

Katzelkraft Challenge Week 1:

Er zijn 4 uitdagingen:

1. Gebruik de skets boven

2. Gebruik iets transparants

3. Gebruik stiksels op de kaart

4. De Special K: maak een embossed achtergrond (niet met embossing poeder) maar zoals met een Cuttlebug. Maak een aantal tags en leg die op de kaart.

Dit is mijn eerste challenge kaart. Ik heb de sketch niet helemaal gevolgd en hoop dat het zo acceptabel is. Eerst heb ik de zwarte kaart gemaakt en was nieuwsgierig hoe het in het wit eruit zo zien - dus heb ik het nog een keer gemaakt!

Katzelkraft 10 weeks to Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I took on a new challenge. Over at the Katzelkraft forum http://katzelkraft.actifforum.com/index.forum   Beatrice Katzele is running a great challenge.
What do you have to do:
Make 3 Christmas cards a week according to her challenge. You can also do 1 extra card a week according to her 'Special K challenge'  If you manage to make the 30 cards or/and the 10 Special K cards by December 31st, you will then receive a K-do (Katzelkraft gift) and be entered in a draw for a big prize :).

You don't have to do ALL the cards, you can do just some of them. You can also make cards out of sequence - ie you can make one challenge a few weeks later and just add it to your own little gallery.
You don't have to use only Katzelkraft stamps - any stamps as long as they are Christmas.

Of course they do love to see their own stamps, so to help you, there is a surprise for those who join the challenge - but I'm not going to tell you what! Go and JOIN!
