Happy Birthday Pieter

Yesterday my son turned 10! He's getting big so quickly.
I made him a card to remind him of his trip to South Africa in December and his visit to the Game Parks.

I masked and sponged the oval with Distress inks (Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Crushed Olive). I then stamped the baobab tree with Pumice Stone. The lion I stamped onto the card and made a second one to cut out and mount with 3d foam . After adding more distress inks, I added a little embossing to the mane. The twine is from my stash.

Stamps: Best Rubber Stamps
Distress ink.

Winner!

This morning I looked at Dorly's blog to see who had won the blog candy - see previous post.
To my great surprise and delight - it was ME!
WOW! Thanks Dorly.

Here's what she wrote on her blog:

I wanted to thank you all for your lovely comments and for your kind wishes for my birthday.

It was heart warming and it made my special day even happier.

I'm sorry I haven't posted lately, but life kept me busy.

I'm back into creating and I'll post again soon, so stay tuned..

Thank you all for following my blog, for leaving comments and for your support and feedback - it means a lot to me.
Now without further ado, my Giveaway winner is Jenni from the Netherlands.
Jenni, please email me your postal address within 48 hours so I can send you the goodies.

And because you've waited patiently, I'm adding something to your envelope. You'll find out what it is once you get it. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed. Have a creative day! Dorly

Happy Birthday Corien

Here's the birthday card I made for my friend Corien. I cut 2 Tim Holtz tags and embossed the white one in my Big Shot and then covered it with Inca Gold purple. I embossed a small piece of vellum and placed it behind the white frame, then stitched beads to the sides and into the lace. A ribbon on the top and the metal flower and all was done. As always, inspiraton form the blog of Godelieve Tijskens  (Stamping Mathilda)
The metal flower I made according to the tutorial of Lin Brown

Here's a close-up of the flower

And a close-up of the frame, vellum and beading

Stamps: Hero Arts,Odd Bird Planet
Other: Inca Gold Purple, Tim Holtz Tag die, Cuttlebug folder textile texture, the rest from my stash
